After winning Miss India World, Chopra secured a prominent role in Abbas-Mustan’s romantic thriller Humraaz (2002). Unfortunately, the project was canceled due to scheduling issues and other responsibilities. Thamizhan, Chopra’s debut film, was critically lauded when released in 2002. One of the highest-grossing Bollywood films in 2003 was Anil Sharma’s The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, in which she debuted as the film’s secondary female heroine.
