Washington state police are looking for a kid accused with the deliberate murder of a stranger while they were reportedly sleeping on a bus.
Miguel Robert Rivera Dominguez, 17, has been charged with first-degree murder and second-degree unauthorized possession of a handgun in the killing of Marcel Wagner on October 3.
Dominguez’s bail has been set at $3 million while he is still at large. He is facing charges in adult court.
According to court filings, Wagner was shot aboard a King County Metro Transit bus with around 15 passengers on board at the time. According to court filings, the bus had video and audio recordings that caught the event.
“Without provocation, and indeed without ever having interacted with the victim, the defendant fired five rounds into the victim’s head and neck at point blank range.” “The defendant then fired two more shots through the bus door and fled to a location where he could change his clothes before returning home,” prosecutors said in charge documents.
According to court papers, the prosecution sought that bond be set at $3 million due to the “likelihood that the defendant will fail to appear in response to a summons and he may commit a violent offense.”
According to authorities, Dominguez has no criminal past.
Prosecutors claim Dominguez made efforts to “conceal his identity,” and his “calculated actions on the bus” indicate that the murder was “planned and deliberate.”
“The defendant’s senseless execution of a total stranger strongly suggests that if released on his own recognizance or on a low bail, he will commit future violent offenses,” the prosecution noted in the court papers.
Surveillance footage from the bus showed Dominguez wearing a dark jacket, a full-face ski mask, trousers, and black shoes, and carrying a bag. He was joined by another unnamed 17-year-old, according to documents. According to documents, there appeared to be “no interaction between Wagner and Dominguez whatsoever” during the approximately 12-minute journey after they entered the bus.
“In reality, it looks that Wagner is dozing off. According to recordings, Dominguez “appears to be texting or otherwise viewing his phone throughout the entire duration of the ride, pausing only occasionally to look outside.”
Dominguez then reportedly pulls the “stop” line, signaling his want to exit the bus, pulls out a revolver, and “suddenly begins shooting Wagner… without uttering a single word,” according to documents.
According to documents, the accompanying kid, whose name has not been revealed, reacted with “shock” and covered his head.
He then repeatedly yells at the bus driver to open the doors and allow him off, even shooting two shots into the still-closed doors. According to documents, the rounds struck the SeaMar White Center Medical Building.
According to documents, the driver then comes to a halt and unlocks the rear door, allowing Dominguez and the other 17-year-old to run.
Dominguez was spotted on security camera minutes later entering a local Boys & Girls Club and changing his clothing inside, according to court filings. Footage from his home showed him subsequently arriving home wearing the same outfit.
Dominguez was reportedly suspended from Highline High School for the 2022-2023 academic year after being involved in a brawl, among other difficulties, according to court documents.
According to court documents, police were able to identify the youngster accompanying Dominguez, and he admitted that Dominguez had shot Wagner and that the two did not know the victim. The youngster also stated that he had no idea Dominguez planned to harm anyone.
Dominguez’s arraignment is set on November 6, although he is not yet in custody.
“He’ll most likely be wearing a mask to hide his face in public.” Rivera Dominguez is thought to be armed and highly dangerous, according to a notice from the King County Sheriff’s Office last month.
