According to police, a barber in Washington state was killed by a gunman while he was trimming the hair of an 8-year-old boy in his own salon on Wednesday night.
In Puyallup, Washington, which is roughly 10 miles southeast of Tacoma, police were called to JQ’s Barbershop at 5:09 p.m. in the 100 block of East Stewart Avenue.
According to a police spokesman, Ryan Portmann, The News Tribune reports that the 43-year-old victim was the owner of the barbershop and a Tacoma resident.
“At the time of the event, the business was occupied by multiple individuals who are working with the inquiry,” Portmann said. “These individuals reported responding cops that the suspect entered the shop and went immediately to the booth where the victim was cutting the hair of an 8-year-old child.”
The child was not injured in the shooting, but witnesses told Portmann that the suspect shot the victim many times.
