The Pennsylvania State Police said that its officers seized more fentanyl in July, August, and September than they did in the entire year of 2020.
The State Police announced the recovery of around 85.5 pounds of fentanyl worth more than $1.3 million as part of a 2,000-pound drug haul seized during the third quarter of 2022.
This is more than the 78.47 pounds captured in 2020 as a whole and more than six times the quantity seized in the third quarter of 2020.
Data from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) show an increase in fentanyl seizures year over year, with over 12,900 pounds confiscated in 2022 already topping the quantity of nearly 11,200 pounds seized in 2021.
