In a statement released by Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele, a man involved in the crash then attempted to grab a gun inside his car, leading to a struggle between him and the officers.
Steele says the man ran home on Winding Road while cops chased him.
During the chase, the man pulled out a revolver and shot at the officers, shooting one in the shoulder. The other cops fired, but did not hit the suspect, who entered a home on Winding Road.
A hospital received the wounded officer in stable condition due to non-life-threatening injuries.
