Arsenal will go toe to toe with Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield with the aim of maintaining their 8 points lead on top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City in their quest to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
The Gunners are in a good position to pip Manchester City for the Premier League title this season but many pundits fear lack of experience could hamper Arsenal’s chance of breaking the 19-year-old Premier League drought.
Manchester City is seen as the team who has experience when it comes to winning the League in such circumstances as they have done in recent times against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The game against Liverpool at Anfield is one of the biggest games in Arsenal’s history and is considered the title decider game for the Gunners as Arsenal had failed to beat Liverpool at Anfield since 2012.
Arsenal Icon Paul Merson believes are can win the Premier League if they defeat Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield.
What did Paul Merson Say?
Previewing the game of Sportskeeda, Paul Merson said: “This game is a worry for Arsenal. Liverpool did not play [Mohamed] Salah, [Virgil] Van Dijk, [Andy] Robertson, or [Trent] Alexander-Arnold against Chelsea.
“Jurgen Klopp could be saving these players for Arsenal. I’d be shocked if they don’t play this game. It seems like the Arsenal game at home is more important to Jurgen Klopp, and that would worry me as an Arsenal fan.
“If Arsenal wins this game, I think they win the Premier League. They still have a game against an excellent Newcastle side, but Arsenal won’t have to beat them if they can get the better of Liverpool.
“If they win this game, they would have to have a major meltdown to lose the title race.
“Jurgen Klopp wants his Liverpool side to play a certain way, and his team doesn’t have the legs to pull it off at the moment. It wasn’t too long ago that Liverpool was smashing Manchester United at home.
“This is going to be a difficult game for Arsenal, and a victory here would seal the Premier League title for me.” Prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal.
