Chelsea “back under fire Frank Lampard” and will offer Olivier Giroud a new contract

Frank Lampard is under some pressure right now, probably the most pressured he has been since he took the reigns as boss last summer.

But there are currently no signs of the Chelsea board looking to get rid of Lampard, despite the poor run of form.

Instead, The Transfer Window Podcast has reiterated that Chelsea is still very much backing Frank Lampard, and will continue to do so by offering Olivier Giroud, a player who Lampard rates highly, a new 1-year contract at the club.

The striker’s current deal ends in the summer, and there are whispers that he might want to leave the club. But allegedly Chelsea will try and convince him to stay even longer with a new deal.

They also say that Chelsea WILL go back in for Declan Rice in January, a priority target of Lampard, and another sign that they are still backing him.

They will need to see improved results from the last handful though that is not under debate.
