Chelsea have spent over €1.2 billion since Todd Boehly took over the club. They have also managed to get rid of the players who do not fit into their plans.
Their transfer spending has not necessarily replicated on the field of play, as they have finished below the top four for the last two seasons. What has become synonymous with this Todd Boehly-led administration is the lengthy type of contract they give to their new signings.
However, Premier League and Arsenal legend Paul Merson has claimed that the staggering contract players signs would not prevent Chelsea from selling any player, including their Cole Palmer, if they receive the right offer.
Cole Palmer has been a revelation since joining Chelsae from Manchester City. He was one of the best players in the Premier League last season and won the Premier League Young Player of the Season and PFA Fans’ Player of the Year awards after scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists.
Paul Merson believes Chelsea could cash in Cole Palmer if they receive an offer of £100m and think they could do the same with Nicolas Jackson if they receive a good offer.

What did Paul Merson say?
As part of the panel discussing the current rift between the Chelsea board, he said on Sky Sports: “They just need to worry about results on the pitch, but I still don’t know the plan. I still don’t know the plan.
“Nicolas Jackson is there until 2033. If Jackson scores 25 goals next season, they will sell him. That’s the whole idea.
“If Cole Palmer becomes unbelievable and keeps on doing what he is doing, then he will be a £100m player. They will sell him for £100m.
“That’s how it works, they don’t want all these players to run their contracts out.”
Cole Palmer has started the new season where he left off last season, providing four assists and scoring a goal in the process.
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher already tipped Manchester United to make a move for Cole Palmer in the future.
Jamie Carragher said on the Overlap on Sky Sports before the start of the season: “Something’s just come to me here.
“If Chelsea have another poor season, we were talking earlier about Manchester United having a real problem on that right wing.
“He Palmer is a big Man United fan isn’t he? Would that not be something that United should visit maybe in 12 months if it doesn’t go well?
“You know what, I think that could happen. Yeah, Cole Palmer to Man United.”
