Nia Long’s first professional role was in the 1986 Disney Channel television movie “The B.R.A.T. Patrol” alongside Sean Astin, Tim Thomerson, and Brian Keith. From 1991 to 1994, she played Kathryn “Kat” Speakes on the long-running, popular serial opera “Guiding Light” under a three-year contract.
