On Wednesday evening in the city of Brooklyn, New York, a young woman of 17 years of age was sitting outside of her apartment building with a group of friends when she was fatally shot.
According to the reports, two suspects on motorbikes rode up to the group and opened fire, wounding the girl by shooting her in the face. She was hurried to the hospital, but doctors there determined that it was too late for her to be saved.
Sukanya Thompson, a witness who lives on the same street as the victim and who spoke to the media, stated that the victim was shot “The sight was quite terrible. Someone was holding her, and it appeared to be her sister. It was a spectacle that could only be described as terrible. A significant number of individuals were shedding tears… It was very clear that she had an effect on the people in the town.”
Walter Gonzalez, a resident of the building who lives on the fourth floor, reported to the reporters that he heard the shots and saw the child laying on the ground after she had been shot. “It’s terrible. I’ve got kids too,” he remarked, expressing his dismay at the situation.
