Microdermabrasion VS Microneedling:

Microdermabrasion definition:

Microdermabrasion is one of the cosmetic treatments, which is non-invasive and needs no surgery. It works amazingly for improving acne scars, skin texture. However, it is also known as power peel, where the rough and dry layer of the skin is peeled off and treated. The treated skin comes out smooth, soft, and glows differently.

Microneedling definition:

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction, is a little different from microdermabrasion. It is also a non-invasive treatment to get rid of acne scars, dullness, and other skin issues. However, this treatment can be done all over the body from the scalp to the ankle. This therapy boosts collagen and scalp use to enhance hair growth.

These treatments are useful for improving the texture of the skin, dullness, and boost collagen. Still, all of that needs consultation from experienced dermatologists according to your skin needs.

Anti wrinkle windsor treatments are a skin care routine that is often used to reduce or eliminate wrinkles. The most popular treatments for wrinkles include botox, fillers and laser resurfacing.

How do they work?

Microdermabrasion procedure:

Microdermabrasion is used to deeply exfoliate the outermost skin layer. The outer layer of the skin contains the most dirt, blemishes and needs more exfoliation. The treatment is simple and can be done without the need for anesthesia.

The procedure involves the initial cleansing process by removing any external makeup, dirt, or an extra layer from the face. The aluminum oxide, sodium bicarbonate, or sodium chloride droplets are prayed over, or simply the natural diamond chips are included. Moreover, this spray is sprayed over in the form of tiny crystals, and the vacuum keeps on removing the dead layer of the skin. Then, a handheld device is rubbed over the sprayed skin in a buffing motion to exfoliate deeply.

For the best results, dermatologists combine it with skin lighteners, anti-aging creams. And chemical peels.

Let’s see what procedure involves micro-needling;

Micro-needling process:

Microneedling is also a non-invasive procedure. But, rather than micro-needling, the process is different and more intense. It ensures more results than microdermabrasion. Let’s take a look at the process.

Microneedling consists of a tool known as a derma roller or derma pen. This tool consists of tiny pins ranging from diameter to 0.5 to 2.5 millimeters. These pins puncture the skin as the derma roller moved on. These punctures in the skin allow the skin to produce elastins and boost collagens. After the result of the treatment gives improved texture and scars. Moreover, the treatment can only be done to the targeted areas unless microdermabrasion.

Does the treatment hurt?

Microdermabrasion:

In general, microdermabrasion does not hurt. Usually, it is not the surgical treatment; it can be said only deep exfoliation. The procedure only gives the sensation of light suction from the handheld vacuum that rolled over the skin.

Microneedling:

However, micro-needling can hurt sensitive skin people. The pain during treatment varies from person to person and their skin conditions. Some people can be sensitive or feel pain to the needles or pin when the derma roller rolled on. However, to avoid pain or sensation, the numbing cream can be used at the beginning.

Side effects:

Microdermabrasion AndMicroneedling:

There is no side effect to both of the treatments. The actual side effects can be seen, which are timely and can disappear in an hour or two after the treatment. These side effects can include redness, itching, or stiffness to the skin.

Who can have treatment:

Microdermabrasion:

Most of the experienced dermatologists do not recommend microdermabrasion to the peoples having active acne. As the treatment can spread acne all over the face. However, other people can have microdermabrasion without any fear of being treated wrong.

Microneedling:

Microneedling cannot be advisable to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Other than that, both the treatments are advised to be done under the consultation of your dermatologist.

Final comparison:

Microdermabrasion and micro-needling both are effective for different skin conditions. We cannot rank one over the other because they target different issues and have different procedures. You can simply choose any of them according to your skin needs and your desires. Moreover, microdermabrasion and microneedling both have no downtimes. You can simply have both the treatments at your office lunch break.

We have provided you with a detailed comparison of both treatments. We have talked about the difference in their procedure, their side effects, and the people who can have it or not.
