Early Life
Maya Rudolph, a white American of Leo zodiac sign and American nationality, was born on July 27, 1972, in Gainesville, Florida.
Her parents, Richard Rudolph (a composer) and Minnie Riperton (a singer/songwriter), gave birth to her in Los Angeles, California.
Maya’s mother died of breast cancer when she was six years old, on July 12, 1979, at 31. She is Marc Rudolph’s sister.
Her grandfather’s father, Sidney Rudolph, was a wealthy businessman who donated all of the Wendy’s and Rudy’s restaurants in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Maya is the great-granddaughter of a founding member of Pittsburgh’s Congregation, Beth Shalom, a Conservative Jewish synagogue, who changed his name from “Rudashevsky” to “Rudolph.”
