According to Foot Mercato, Ilkay Gundogan, a midfielder for Manchester City, has received an offer from Saudi Arabia’s league in an endeavor to bring him to a club in that country.
Gundogan, who captained City in the Champions League final victory over Internazionale on Saturday to complete a historic treble, will see his Etihad contract expire this month.
Barcelona has reportedly achieved an agreement to sign the German international when he becomes a free agent. The Catalan giants have been attempting to sign the international player. Paris Saint-Germain is also interested and will be eager to replicate City’s feat of winning the Champions League for the first time.
Saudi Arabia also attempts to recruit the coveted midfielder when the opportunity presents itself. This is part of the league’s effort to sign high-profile players, which has already resulted in the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo to Al Nassr in January and Karim Benzema to Real Madrid from Al Ittihad last week.
ESPN’s Moises Llorens quoted Gundogan as stating, “I haven’t decided my future plans yet.”
