Keeping Heat at Bay: Car Sunshade Essentials
SHARE

Come summer, car owners everywhere know the various problems that a car faces. From overheating to air conditioning malfunctions, a poorly maintained car can lead to a lot of trouble. Among these, the most unfortunate problem is a heated interior. During hot weather conditions, even a perfect air conditioning system cannot save the day. The car turns into a fully functional cooking oven at the first ray of sunlight. Sunshades come in handy during these situations. They protect the inside of the vehicle from harmful rays and preserve the original temperature. With protective gear such as the Holden car sunshade, one can effectively manage this problem. Here are a few things that one needs to know before buying a sunshade.

Purpose of a Sunshade

A sunshade is a protective piece of sheet that prevents sun rays from hitting the car. It consists of thin layers of black netting material laid on top of each other, with a frame bordering the perimeter of the material. It is not surprising that while marketing the first sunshade invented, advertisers called it “curtain for vehicles”. True to this description, sunshades serve as curtains for cars. Today’s sunshades are thinner than ever and are easily fittable.

Sunshades come in materials such as mesh and polyester. These are highly reflective materials that effectively prevent sun rays from entering the vehicle. While windows and windshields already have a protective sheet that keeps harmful UV rays away, they do not block visible sunlight. The car heats up through these rays, and the seats and other objects inside the vehicle also absorb the heat. Sunshades are efficient in preventing this because they block the light before it can become heat. Unlike light, heat cannot escape closed spaces. There are different types of sunshade materials that distinctly handle sunshades.

Types of Sunshades

The two prominent types are reflective and non-reflective sunshades. The reflective type uses materials like aluminium foil or mylar. These materials actively block sun rays before they even hit the windshield. Non-reflective sunshades use cotton or polyester as the mesh. The former kind has the reflective side facing the car’s, while the black surface is on the other side. Both the types can be fitted manually by the user and do not require much assistance. They typically have a small suction cup on the centre point of the shade. When one sticks the cup on the window, the sunshade stays in place. Some protective shades derive static electricity from the surface of the windows. These types lack the suction cup but may have clips that attach the material to the window.

Uses of a Sunshade

A sunshade, despite its name, is helpful in many ways apart from its use as a heat blocker. It obstructs heavy sunlight on bright days. Children have softer skin than adults. Thus, it protects small kids from being exposed to UV rays. In non-reflective sunshades, light does not enter the care, but the nylon material also allows visibility from the inside. Experts claim that this prevents motion sickness that people experience during long drives and trips. It also offers enhanced privacy. One can also stack sunshades one upon another to alter the darkness of the car. Shades are typically stuck on the vehicle’s windows but can also help block sun rays from entering from the back windshield.

There are many benefits that come with owning best graco car seat. Some benefits include the fact that they are easy to install and uninstall, they are lightweight, and they can be easily cleaned.

Temperatures in Melbourne can soar up to 30 degrees Celsius during sweltering summers. Shades such as the Holden car sunshade are highly resilient and durable in these situations. In summer, any family with small children must always make sure that their sunshades are in place. All car owners need to consider procuring one for their vehicle.
