One count of giving false information to the FBI was included in the indictment against him.
After presenting its closing argument on Friday morning, the prosecution team working under the supervision of Special Counsel John Durham stated that the evidence “established beyond a reasonable doubt” that Michael Sussmann lied to the FBI. Earlier this year, it was claimed that Sussman had billed Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign for his time and work on the Trump Organization’s purported secret communications line with a Russian bank. This information came from a report that was made earlier this year.
Jonathan Algor, a federal prosecutor, gave the presentation of the government’s last case during the closing arguments that were held on Friday morning.
