Graham was the pastor of the East Side Baptist Church in Cross Plains, Callahan County, Texas, in 1970. First Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma (1975–1988), First Baptist Church in Duncan, Oklahoma (1978–1981), and First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida (1981–1989) followed his time as an assistant pastor at Sagamore Hill Baptist Church (1972–1975).
Prestonwood’s second campus is located in Prosper, Texas, not far from the intersection of US Highway 380 and Dallas Parkway. The church also upgraded its facilities for PowerPoint Ministries that year, adding HDTV to the list of recent additions.
In 2018, the church’s membership hit 43,000, with an average of 17,000 attending weekly services.
In a report on sexual misconduct in the Southern Baptist Convention published in May 2022, Dr. Graham was accused of covering up the removal of John Langworthy, the youth music minister at Prestonwood Baptist Church who had admitted to church officials that he had molested at least one student in the late 1980s. Once again accused of assaulting young boys, Langworthy went on to work as a youth music pastor, this time at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi.
