Prosecutors alleged that the cops were attacked close to a hotel while they were monitoring the well-being of three unsupervised youngsters.
Prosecutors said on Tuesday that an immigrant mob had been indicted for allegedly beating New York City police officers outside a Queens hotel that was being used as a shelter while the cops were assessing the safety of three unsupervised children.
The six individuals were charged with charges connected to an attack on two NYPD officers on June 17 in Long Island City, as well as first- and second-degree attempted gang assault.
“In an assault outside a Long Island City hotel, two police officers, who were checking on the welfare of unattended children at 4:20 a.m., were allegedly surrounded and punched and kicked by a group of adults,” according to a statement from Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. “My office will vigorously prosecute those who harm members of law enforcement, and we will hold these defendants responsible for their alleged actions.”
