During the Houston campaign, Jackson Lee chastised employees and advised supporters to cast their ballots on the incorrect day.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, was the target of a parting shot from Texas state senator and incoming mayor of Houston, John Whitmire, who defeated the congresswoman in a landslide.
People are drawn to work for me because of our regard for one another. Whitmire stated, “We don’t bully people,” in his victory address on Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reports. “No matter where you are or what town you’re visiting, my family has always taught me to treat others like I want to be treated. Show these people the respect you would like to receive.”
Whitmire, a Democrat as well, seemed to be alluding to Jackson Lee’s contentious outburst from earlier this month, during which she was seen on camera cursing her staff members in the midst of a contentious election.
“Jerome simply sits there like a fat [expletive] and talks about what the [expletive] he doesn’t know when I call him. You two are [expletive]-ups. I could never have put together a worse [crap] than this. Two enormous [expletive] children, each of them. [Expletive] moronies. serve no [expletive] purpose, “At one point in the recording, Jackson Lee uttered obscenities.
Jackson Lee also faced mockery for an error she made earlier this month when she urged her followers to vote on the incorrect day, advising them to do so by December 7, which is two days ahead of the runoff election date.
With 65% of the vote against Jackson Lee’s 34%, Whitmire won the race on Saturday with a landslide.
“Big cities find solutions to their issues,” Whitemire declared following the triumph. We’re going to have difficulties, but I see that as an opportunity, and I need your help. We’ll overcome our obstacles, and it will be a chance to demonstrate to the country the potential of Houston.”
