Police investigating gunfire inside Maryland mall.
The authorities in Maryland are looking into reports of probable gunfire taking place inside the St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf.
As of Sunday at 5:30 p.m., the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said that the area had been secured, and they had taken one suspect into custody.
As the police continued their investigation, they were able to confirm that none of the victims had been found. The shopping centre won’t reopen until much later in the day.
“According to preliminary accounts, it appears that a gang of teenagers may have fired a handgun inside the shopping mall. As of this moment, there have been no reported victims who have been shot,” the statement continued.
The research was published just one day after a shooting rampage in an Allen, Texas, shopping mall that resulted in the deaths of at least eight people and injuries to dozens of others.
Fox News Digital contacted the Charles County Sheriff’s Office for more information but did not receive a response.
Anyone with information regarding the event is asked to call 301-932-2222.
