The United Nations University, Institute for National Resource in Africa, is calling on the government of Ghana to invest in research on rice cultivation practices to boost rice production in a way that does not harm the environment.
The Institute says unsustainable agricultural practices in rice cultivation could bring about increased Green House Gas emissions and land or soil degradation.
