Arsenal and Tottenham face off in one clash of the season. The two clubs are serious contenders for the Premier League this season.
The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League with 18 points having won six matches out of the seven. Their only loss in the season came against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Tottenham is still unbeaten in the Premier League along with Manchester City in seven matches. Antonio Conte’s side is on 17 points and a win against Arsenal could see them go top of the Premier League with 20 points.
However, Glen Johnson thinks Arsenal will win the North London derby against Tottenham.
What is Glen Johnson’s prediction for the North London Derby?
The former Liverpool and Chelsea right back revealed on SafeBettingSites: “It’s going to be a tough one to call, to be honest.
“Tottenham looks great, Arsenal looks great. Finally, we’ve got two good teams going into the north London derby!
“I literally have no idea how the game will play out because Arsenal surprised me. Tottenham looks really solid. This game is probably the biggest 50/50 this season.
“It would be a massive win for either team because both teams are performing really well, and you’ve got to show that you’re at that level.
“There’s a lot of teams in the league that can get to a position near the top of the table, but it can be false because it depends on who you’ve been playing.
“These are two clubs now where they’re both in form. They’re both knocking around the top of the table and you’re going to have to prove that you’re the best at some stage.
“This is their first big test, for both teams. [I’m going] 2-1 to Arsenal.”
Glen Johnson also added that he admires both Harry Kane and Gabriel Jesus.
“I’m a fan of both, but I have to go for Kane
“I’m a big fan of Jesus, but Kane is a proper goalscorer.
“Jesus’ all-round game is better, but if you’ve got a goal-scoring opportunity to win the game, then I think Kane is the man.”
Meanwhile, Mikael Silvestre admits Arsenal will struggle without Thomas Partey for the North London Derby.
The Arsenal Legend said on bettingexpert: “He (Thomas Partey) is a big piece of the puzzle for Mikel Arteta.
“Arsenal is showing they are stretched as soon as there is an injury to Xhaka or Partey. They are short on bodies, so it could be problematic this season.
“Partey is showing he is good on the ball. He has got that physicality that is needed in the middle part. He is making challenges.
“So, if he doesn’t play, that is trouble for Arsenal.”
He also added that Mikel Arteta should play Albert Sambi Lokonga in the absence of Thomas Partey for Tottenham.
“He (Albert Sambi Lokonga) is still learning and adapting to the Premier League.
“He is showing a lot of focus and dedication. So, he can step up and fill Partey’s boots but still, it is asking a lot from a young player.
“When you play those types of games, the derbies, it can be repressive sometimes.
“But he was a captain at Anderlecht. I think he knows how to deal with this situation, even though he is still a young player.”
