Saturday morning in Hampton, Georgia, at least four individuals were slain in a mass shooting, according to Georgia authorities.
According to reports, the gunfire spree began around 10:45 a.m. in the Dogwood Lakes neighborhood of Hampton, a small metropolis south of Atlanta.
Authorities identified the suspect as Andre Longmore, age 40. The police suspect that Longmore murdered three males and one woman.
“We are not releasing the names of the victims at this time to give the family time to be notified and grieve in private before the information becomes public,” police superintendent James Turner explained at a press conference on Saturday afternoon.
“We were still actively investigating at least four crime scenes,” Turner added. The suspect was last seen driving a 2017 black GMC Acadia SUV.
The authorities obtained four arrest warrants for Longmore. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office offers a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s capture.
Authorities report that Longmore is still armed and dangerous with a black handgun, and they urge anyone who sees him to dial 911 immediately.
“Today is a terrible day in Hampton. This is simply not routine for us. And as a police department, we will lament as a community.” Turner said. “We will do everything in our power to bring the perpetrator to justice.”
The incident is being actively investigated by authorities in Georgia, including the Hampton Police Department and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. There are no additional details available at this time.
