Authorities claim that a man from Georgia was detained and charged after faking work with a police force.
Dunwoody Police detained Brandon Jones-Henderson, who is accused of posing as a police officer.
He had stated that he was an officer with the Adairsville Police Department, but the agency claims they are unaware of him and have no record of him having had that position.
The man’s falsehood was found, according to Dunwoody Police Sgt. Michael Cheek, when a resident complained last week about the behavior of a traffic cop.
A citizen complained to the police department on Wednesday morning about an officer who was rudely directing traffic, according to Cheek, speaking to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The man was directing traffic on Chamblee Dunwoody Road and Cotillion Drive when Dunwoody Police Department officers arrived and discovered him.
He had “Police” written on his traffic vest, according to Cheek. He truly was wearing a shirt that read “State Police Officer,” and he also carried a revolver.
The man revealed to the police that he worked for the Adairsville Police Department. Adairsville Police responded to a call from Dunwoody Police by stating that they had no idea who the man was and had no record of his employment.
Cheek stated, “He was directing traffic for a construction company that had contracted him to do so.
