The Premier will commence on Friday, August 5 when Arsenal travels to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
As usual, Manchester City and Liverpool lead the prediction for the teams to win the Premier League this season because of their dominance in the Premier League in the last five years.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham are also contenders for the Premier League this season based on their history and summer transfer business.
Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag is expected to mount a serious challenge. Arsenal is currently the top spenders in the Premier League in the summer so far. The Gunner has to spend £121 million with the signing of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Viera, Matt Turner, and Maquinhos.
Chelsea has signed Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Gabriel Slonina. The blues are also closing on Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella.
Tottenham Hotspurs has also seen a major reinforcement this summer with the signing of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Foster, Clément Lenglet, and Djed Spence.
However, former Manchester United skipper Gary Neville believes Tottenham has what it takes to upset Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League.
Who is Gary Neville’s pick to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League?
Speaking on the overlap podcast, The former England international said: “I think Ivan Perisic [is a good signing]. I’ve got Tottenham Hotspur finishing third in my head. Because of Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison added into [the mix of] what they’ve already got.
“They have already got Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son who are world-class. They have two world-class players up top, and they’ve now added to it with Perisic and Richarlison.
“I think Tottenham are the only club who could challenge, they won’t finish above Liverpool, but they could if somehow Liverpool wobble or get an injury to Virgil Van Dijk, then Tottenham could [challenge]. They are the only club who could potentially.”
Tottenham with Antonio Conte can pose a strong title challenge looking at how he picked the team from 9th place last season in November to guide them into a top-four finish last season.
Liverpool Legend Jamie Carragher who was on the same platform with Garry Neville seems to agree on the greater part with him but raised questioned marks on whether Tottenham can combine the Champions League football with the Premier League.
The Liverpool legend added: “I’m a massive fan of Antonio Conte, and I think it’s brilliant to have him in the Premier League.
“One thing I would say could stop Tottenham [from doing well] is if they do okay in Europe because if you look at Conte’s record even when he was at Chelsea when he had no Europe and he’s got them [the players] for the full week training and the way he trains, you know all the tough training.
“But I think his record if there’s a lot of games coming in Europe there’s a lot more difficulty.”
