Over the weekend, Israeli actress Gal Gadot, known for Wonder Woman and her recent role as the Evil Queen in Disney’s “Snow White,” was trending after an interview where she seemed to attribute the movie’s flop to anti-Israel sentiment in Hollywood.
There has been global tension on celebrities around the world and in Hollywood to speak out on Israel’s actions in Gaza.
Gadot, in the interview, said, “There’s pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel. I can always explain and try to give context about what’s happening here, and I always do that. But in the end, people make their own decisions. And I was disappointed that the movie was so affected by all of that and that it didn’t do well at the box office.”
Her comments went viral, leading to the debate over her claims, whether Hollywood biases were to blame for Snow White’s performance.
Other contributors on social media noted that the film had faced negative press before release, including criticism against lead actress Rachel Zegler and debate over the film’s direction.
After days of heated debate, Gadot took to Instagram to clarify her earlier remarks. In the post, she wrote:

“I was honored to join an extraordinary interview with inspiring interviewers, whose questions go straight to the heart.
“Sometimes we respond to questions from an emotional place. When the film came out, I felt that those who are against Israel criticized me in a very personal, almost visceral way. They saw me first and foremost as an Israeli, not as an actress. That’s the perspective I spoke from when I answered the question.
“Of course, the film didn’t fail solely because of external pressures. There are many factors that determine why a film succeeds or fails, and success is never guaranteed.”
I hope you watched the “Snow White” movie you can drop your comment on why the “Snow White” performed poorly.
