Uvalde County Justice of the Peace No. 4 Eulalio “Lalo” Diaz Jr., who serves as the de facto county coroner, told The Houston Chronicle that funeral homes in Ramos’ hometown were too busy with services for the total of 21 victims killed by the accused gunman on May 24 to take on the responsibility of caring for the remains of the accused gunman.
