Authorities say four individuals were shot in a western Chicago neighborhood during a funeral procession on Saturday.
According to the Oak Park Police Department, the incident happened on Saturday, June 10 about 1 p.m. in suburban Oak Park, Illinois.
“The incident is believed to have been directed at members of the procession, with no impact on bystanders,” police noted on Twitter.

According to authorities, the funeral procession was moving westbound when a white pick-up truck came alongside one of the cars in the parade and started shooting. During the event, no bystanders were shot.
According to police, two people were hit and sent to Loyola Medical Center. According to authorities, one of the victims is in critical condition, while the other is in critical but stable condition.
Two more people were hit by stray gunfire and sent to Rush Oak Park Hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
While there is no longer a danger to the neighborhood, Oak Park Police Chief Shatonya Johnson said that gun violence “has no place in our community.”
“While there is no indication of any additional threat to the community as a result of this incident,” stated Police Chief Shatonya Johnson in a news statement. “Our job as law enforcement officials is to bring the individual or individuals responsible for this crime to justice in order to make it clear that senseless gun violence has no place in our community, or any community for that matter.”
