The woman said that Sen. Tom Wright was “aggressive” with her.
A report from the Daytona Beach Police Department says that Republican Florida state Sen. Tom Wright “aggressively” put his hand on a worker at a domestic violence shelter. Still, the politician has a different memory of what happened.

On Saturday afternoon, women who had been victims of domestic violence and their children got on a school bus for a field trip. Wright was on a tour with counselors from the Department of Children and Families and other state workers who work with domestic violence.

According to Fox 35, the incident report said that Wright was walking toward the bus as the driver was getting ready to leave.

“I’m sorry, sir. “You can’t get on the bus with the survivors and kids,” the woman told him. She also said to him that they needed to be safe and anonymous, and it was her job to protect them.
The report says that Wright told her he wouldn’t get on the bus and wouldn’t try to talk to the survivors. He told the bus driver that he wanted to speak to him.

The woman told the cops that Wright was “aggressive” toward her and put his hand on her shoulder.

According to the story, she told him, “Don’t touch me,” and he moved away from her. She also said he had tried to scare her by lunging at her multiple times and getting in her face.

Even though another worker tried to help, the woman told cops she still felt scared.

Later, a request to have Wright kicked off the property was granted, and cops warned the senator that he couldn’t return to the property until further notice.
Another person who saw what happened told the cops that she saw Wright walk up to the bus, but she did not see him touch the woman. This person also remembered seeing Wright with his arm out, but they couldn’t remember what happened next. The report says that the witness said Wright violently approached the woman and refused to calm things down.
Another witness said they saw Wright put his hand on the woman’s shoulder to tell her he wouldn’t get on the bus.

The report says that the woman who said Wright put his hands on her “aggressively” refused medical care and wouldn’t let police take a picture of her shoulder because there were no apparent injuries.
Wright left the house before the cops could talk to him, but they found him at a store nearby. The report said that when he went to the bus to speak to the driver, the woman started to yell at him that she didn’t want him on the bus. He said the woman kept yelling at him while he tried to explain that he wouldn’t get on the bus.

The senator said the woman was getting in his face, so he put his hand on her shoulder to let her know he wasn’t getting on the bus. He said that she told him not to touch her and left.
