Daniel Perry, 35 years old, is accused of shooting and killing Garrett Foster, who was participating in a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Austin, Texas. Perry is now facing a charge of murder in connection with the incident.
A member of the victim’s family has filed a lawsuit against an Army service member who was driving for Uber in Texas when he fatally shot a Black Lives Matter protester at a demonstration in Texas.

The lawsuit against Sgt. Daniel Perry which Garrett Foster’s family intends to bring against him in connection with the killing of their son was submitted to the Travis County state District Court on Wednesday.
According to a report that was broadcast by The News God at the time, Perry had said something online about killing protesters while he was stationed at Fort Hood on the day of the shooting in downtown Austin on July 25, 2020. According to the allegations made in the lawsuit, Perry was a “potentially lethal time bomb” at the relevant time.
Perry was driving for Uber when he fatally shot Foster, who had approached the vehicle while armed with a rifle. The shooting occurred in the middle of a protest march. Foster was the target of a shot fired by Perry using a firearm. Later on that day, Foster, a veteran of the Air Force who was 28 years old, passed dead in a local hospital.
