Dino Bravo’s Biography
Adolfo Bresciano, who was famously known by his ring name Dino Bravo, was a well-known Italian-Canadian professional wrestler and promoter who was born on August 6, 1948, in Campobasso, Italy, under the zodiac sign Leo, with the nationality Italian and of white descent.
He was born in the commune of Campobasso in southern Italy to Mario and Ausilia Bresciano. When Dino was young, his family emigrated to Canada, settling in the Centre-Sud neighborhood of the Montreal borough of Ville-Marie. He began his wrestling training in amateur wrestling at the age of 12.
Career
Bravo began his wrestling career in 1970 after training under Gino Brito. Dino and Dominic DeNucci, two wrestlers who collaborated as The Bravo Brothers in the early 1960s, gave him the nickname “Dino Bravo,” which he adopted. Being trained by Gino Brito, Bravo often worked in a tag team with his mentor, billed as Brito’s cousin. He has collaborated with “Mr. Wrestling” Tim Woods, DeNucci, and other wrestlers on a number of other tag teams. He and Woods held the Jim Crockett Promotions version of the NWA World Tag Team Championship after defeating Gene and Ole Anderson. But later, he lost the title to Andersons. He also had a major program with Blackjack Mulligan. He tacked on Mulligan twice in a televised non-title match to set up a series of matches for Mulligan’s United States title. Basically, he did not win the U.S. title from the champion Mulligan, but he received several shots at the NWA World Champion Harley Race during his tenure with Crockett.
Bravo later became a big enough draw to get a single push in the Montreal territory around the late 1970s. He defeated Gene Kiniski in Toronto in December 1978 to win the new Canadian heavyweight title recognized in that area. With his tag teammate Dominic DeNucci, he secured the WWWF World Tag Team Title in March 1978 from Professor Tanaka and Mr. Fuji, but it was later claimed by The Yukon Lumberjacks after he held on to it for three months. Bravo was so famous and well-known for his incredible strength and fitness. He later signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation but remained a partner with Dominic DeNucci. He won the WWWF World Tag Team Championship with Dominic DeNucci.
He was also the only holder of the WWF Canadian Championship, which was abandoned in 1986. With his great career, he became one of the top professional wrestling stars in Canada, winning several major titles, including the Canadian International Heavyweight Championship six times, the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship (Toronto version), and the NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship.

Death
