Comer obtained personal and company bank documents from Hunter and James Biden.
Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, stated that his committee had discovered evidence that Joe Biden received a “$200,000 direct payment” from his brother, James Biden, and sister-in-law, Sara Biden, in 2018 and is demanding that the president answer questions about “financial arrangements” with members of his family.
Since January, Rep. Comer of Kentucky has been investigating the Biden family’s business operations and whether President Biden was involved in them or “personally benefited” from them.
Comer detailed his committee’s latest findings in a video on “X,” formerly known as Twitter. Comer stated that the check was written to President Biden by James Biden as a “loan repayment” but questioned the timing.
“Bank records obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability have revealed a $200,000 direct payment from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden in the form of a personal check,” said Comer.

According to Comer, James Biden “received loans from Americore, a financially troubled and failing rural hospital operator, in 2018 totaling $600,000.”
“According to bankruptcy court documents, James Biden received these loans based upon representations that his last name, Biden, could open doors and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections,” Comer stated.
“Americore—a distressed company—loaned money to James Biden, who then sent it to Joe Biden,” Comer stated.
But Comer stated that even if the money was “a personal loan repayment, it’s still troubling that Joe Biden’s ability to be paid back by his brother depended on the success of his family’s shady financial dealings.”
“Some immediate questions President Biden must answer for the American people are: Does he have documents proving he lent such a large sum of money to his brother, and what were the terms of such a financial arrangement?” Comer enquired. “Did he have similar financial arrangements with other family members that led them to make large payments to him?”
Comer also demanded that Biden explain whether he knew that on the same day he received the $200,000 check, “James Biden had just received a loan for the same amount from business dealings with a company that was in financial distress and failing.”
“The House Oversight Committee will soon announce our next investigative actions and continue to follow the money,” he told reporters. “Bank records don’t stop here. There will be more.”
Comer’s discoveries came after a months-long probe. Comer is co-chairing the House Impeachment Committee with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo.
Comer stated that his committee’s probe discovered that Biden family members, business partners, and “related companies” had received “significant payments from individuals and companies in China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania.”
According to Comer, the House Oversight Committee discovered during its probe that the Biden family and their business allies generated more than $24 million between 2014 and 2019 by “selling Joe Biden as ‘the brand’ around the world.”
