In the state of Oregon, approximately two miles to the west of Manzanita Beach, a fire broke out on a commercial fishing trawler.
On Saturday morning, officials with the United States Coast Guard said that a boater was able to save a fisherman from a burning commercial fishing vessel that was located off the coast of Oregon.
A distress call was placed around 2 miles off the coast of Manzanita Beach in Oregon at approximately 6:30 in the morning by a fisherman working aboard a commercial vessel of 42 feet in length.
The team from the Coast Guard learned, upon arriving at the scene, that a Good Samaritan had saved the fisherman before the ship’s entire loss due to fire. The ship had been on fire.
The officials assert that the fisherman was saved by the Coast Guard, who brought him to safety on board one of their vessels and brought him ashore. It is stated that he is in perfect health and that he was unharmed when he escaped the fire.
