The Chicago Police Department had obtained prior information about a man who was planning to commit a string of robberies across the city while equipped with a machete.
On Sunday night, a robber armed with a machete allegedly attempted to attack a victim on the northwest side of the city, as reported by the Chicago police department.
The event took at around nine o’clock at night in the Irving Park neighborhood on the 3700 block of North Troy Street, as stated in the report by The News God.

According to the statements made by the authorities, a male suspect approached the victim, who was 52 years old, from behind and demanded his goods before fleeing the scene.
According to the police, the suspect who was holding a machete tried to strike the victim with it, but the victim ended up falling to the ground. To prevent the thief from getting away with his crime, he threw his wallet out the window and ran away.
