Chelsea’s new signing Pedro Neto has revealed in an interview after the club’s win over Barrow in the Carabao Cup that he has yet to reach his best level following his £54m move to the North London club.
Pedro Neto is known for his versatility and explosiveness on either side of the wings. He can also play as an attacking midfielder. The Portuguese international has struggled to make a regular start for Chelsea since joining the Blues.
He opened his Chelsea accounts on Tuesday night against English tier two side Barrow but was quick to admit that he has yet to reach full gear and that his best is yet to come.

What did Pedro Neto Say?
The Portuguese international told the Evening Standard: “At the moment, I’m not at my level, but I’m getting there. I know that I will arrive at my top form, and I will enjoy it.
“I continue to work. I continue to work on my confidence, on my football, on the adaptation, and I hope to be [at full fitness] as soon as as I can.”
Pedro Neto is aware of the tough competition for regular star status at Chelsea at the moment, and the only way he can walk his way into Enzo Maresca’s starting eleven is to produce his best performance week in and week out.
He added: “When you arrive at a big club, it’s a new adaptation. Maybe in Wolverhampton, I was going to play maybe 90 per cent of the games.
“Here, I have to work even more, or maybe I’ll not play because the coach will rotate the players. It makes you play even better because you know that you have to work.
“With the amount of quality that we have here, no one can sleep. As the coach has said: ‘”Everyone will not play every game'”.
“We have to work hard and make for ourselves and continue to to do it every weekend, every training session, every game. It’s the mentality that I hope can take us to the top.”
Meanwhile, Paul Scholes has identified Chelsea’s goalkeeper and centre-forward as the weak link in the team.
Chelsea is playing excellent football under Enzo Maresca and has accumulated 10 points out of a possible 12 in their last four games.
However, Paul Scholes has raised questions about Chelsea’s centre-forward and goalkeeper.
The Premier League and Manchester United legend said on the Overlap on Skysports: “We were saying Maresca is going to be the first one gone.
“These results have almost calmed things down. You look at the squad there is a lot of talent.
“[But] I’m a little bit worried about the centre-forward to be honest. [And] I’m worried about the keeper a little bit.”
