  • Meanwhile, Alex Crook thinks Manchester United should keep Cristiano Ronaldo because they will find it difficult to replace him in the summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the top performers in the Premier League and won the Manchester United player of the season after scoring 18 goals in the Premier League 5 goals shy of Premier League Golden Boot winners Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min with 32 goals respectively.

The five-time Ballon D’or winner has been linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain to form a partnership with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe with Neymar’s transfer from Paris Saint Germain now imminent.

Jorge Mendes who represents Cristiano Ronaldo has held talks with Chelsea acting Chairman and interim Sporting director Todd Boehly over a possible transfer for the Portuguese international. There are also reports that Ronaldo’d representative is also discussing a possible transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Barcelona.

Bayern Munich is also monitoring the situation of Cristiano Ronaldo with Robert Lewandowski expected to leave the Allianz Arena for Barcelona.

However, Craig Burley has sent a warning to potential suitors who want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer claiming he is a bad apple.

What did Craig Burley say?

Speaking on ESPN, the former Chelsea defender said: “[Apparently] there will be a few tears shed in the Manchester United dressing room if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves… Really.

“Trust me, the only tears shed will be from fans at the fact that half of these wannabees are at the club.

“The fact that he allegedly was a bit divisive last year on arrival at the club, I think that’s merely down to the fact that the standards were awful. I can understand that frustration.

“I think Manchester United has to get him out. He’s not the future. You can’t have a bad apple, a divisive player, and one that doesn’t want to be there.

“You have new management, trying to build some new foundations. You can’t have that player. They’re going to have to find a way to get him out.

“The biggest mistake he made was walking into the club 12 months ago thinking they were moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Alex Crook thinks Manchester United should keep Cristiano Ronaldo because they will find it difficult to replace him in the summer.

Alex Crook said via talkSPORTs: “I think he does, if they let him go they have to have a replacement lined up.

“He still scored 24 goals last season, he doesn’t have the mobility of Ronaldo first time round when he was at Old Trafford but he still knows how to put the ball in the net and that’s a precious commodity.

“There aren’t that many number nines out there, Darwin Nunez was a United target earlier in the summer, unless they’re going to go to Bayern Munich and say you can have Ronaldo and we’ll have Robert Lewandowski I don’t see how they’ll replace him.

“A number nine hasn’t been high on Ten Hag’s priority list, they sounded out Nunez but he was always going to go to Liverpool.
“The one forward player he is keen to bring in Antony who is more of a wide forward from Ajax but they want big money and he’s not a Ronaldo replacement.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has missed two days of Manchester United pre-season over family issues.
