Charles Wade Barkley was born to Charcey Glenn and Frank Barkley on February 20, 1963, in Leeds, Alabama, United States of America. In the 1984 NBA draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Barkley as their fifth overall choice as a junior. Barkley was a 1985 NBA All-Rookie First Team member during his rookie season.
