Early years and education
Vadym Iermolaiev was born on the 13th of May 1968 in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). He studied at the local Secondary School No. 69 in 1975-1983. In 1987 he was a graduate of the Dnipro Technical and Economic College. Then he served in the army.
Career and areas of activity
In 1995 Vadym Iermolaiev set up the Primus inter pares Сompany. Its name means “first amongst equals” in Latin.
The company became Trade and Industrial Corporation Alef in 1997.
Alef unites more than a dozen independent, diversified companies, ranging from agriculture to producing plastic profiles, aerated concrete, accessories, implants, etc. Aksor, Miroplast, UDK, ABM Technology, Sady Dnipra, Agroaliance – all these companies became leading in their respective industries.
In 1999 Vadym Iermolaiev expanded his business activities to the Dnipropetrovsk region. He opened the Olvia-Beta plant, specializing in the production of detergents, together with partners in the region. Five years later he sold his stake in the plant to the company’s main rival, Procter&Gamble, and invested in new major ventures.
Vadym Iermolaiev founded the real estate development company Alef Estate in 2001. The company has been the developer of such residential and commercial projects as MOST City, Cascade Plaza, Bosphorus, Enigma, Prisma, Katerynoslavskyi and Pivdennyi boulevards. Alef Estate has also carried out the historical restoration of the Katerynoslav Cloth Factory and the “Apartment House” on Troitska Street.
The businessman established Agrobank in 2002. The bank was later sold to the Czech financial group PPF. The funds are again being invested in new projects and initiatives, following the example of Olvia-Beta plant.
The businessman became a Kiddo Foundation patron in 2012. Helping seriously ill children is the main focus of the foundation. Millions of hryvnias have already been allocated to treat and rehabilitate children. Other priorities include supporting orphanages, boarding schools and children’s wards in hospitals.
Public activity
In 2018 the businessman participated in the Dnipro International Economic Forum – DEF 2018. In 2019 Iermolaiev gave an interview to the YouTube blogger Andriy Ostapchuk. In the interview he talked about his way in business.
Vadym Iermolaiev is implementing new projects in Ukraine during the war. He is a public speaker on the problems of housing shortage as a result of the war. Therefore, Alef Estate decided to resume construction in Dnipro in the spring of 2022.
