When it comes to the issue of inflation and the price of gas, Republicans have accused Biden of adopting two different standards.
The perception that President Joe Biden is engaging in a victory lap over falling gas prices has drawn criticism at a time when inflation rates across the country are climbing steadily higher.
Given the difficult economic times that many Americans are going through, Republicans in Congress feel it is insensitive for the White House to overstate the degree to which gas prices have decreased.
“People are hurting,” said Representative Roger Williams, a Republican from Texas. Amid a problem with the supply chain, they don’t want to accept responsibility for causing inflation; nevertheless, they are more than glad to accept credit when prices decrease because Democrats are suffering and it’s an election year.
The rate of inflation has reached its highest point since the early 1980s, thanks to a 9.1 percent increase over the previous year. The majority of the negative effects have been felt by employees and owners of small businesses in the United States.
