Inter Miami has verified the free transfer signing of veteran fullback Jordi Alba from Barcelona.
The defender is the latest ex-Barcelona player to join Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and head coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino in Miami.
Alba has signed a contract through the 2024 MLS season with an option for the 2025 campaign.
He made over 450 appearances for the Catalan champions in all competitions, scoring 27 goals and amassing numerous trophies since joining in June 2012 from Valencia. Alba is also a veteran of the Spanish national team, having appeared 93 times for his country.

Alba is not only a wonderful addition to the team as a household name, but he also provides much-needed assistance for the left-back position, as Franco Negri is injured for the remainder of 2023.
The Herons are currently preparing to face Cruz Azul in the opening game of the 2023 Leagues Cup on July 21, when Messi and Busquets are anticipated to make their club debuts.
