Lenny DePaul, a former chief of the United States Marshals Service who is now retired, talks about what it means for the search for Kaitlin Armstrong to be considered a “serious case” given the current state of the manhunt.
After approximately one month has passed following the death of top cyclist Moriah “Mo” Wilson, who is believed to have been slain by Kaitlin Armstrong, the suspect in her murder, the United States Marshals Service has received scores of tips on Armstrong’s whereabouts.
According to Brandon Filla, Deputy United States Marshal and spokesperson for the Western District of Texas, the search for Armstrong, who is accused of shooting and killing Wilson, 25, inside an Austin apartment where Wilson was staying ahead of an upcoming race in Hico, Texas, has received at least 70 tips as of this point. Wilson was preparing for an upcoming race in Hico, Texas. About the seventy tips that were received by Austin Capital Area CrimeStoppers and the USMS, Filla stated, “We have had some instrumental value that has benefitted our investigation.”
