According to Joyce Bawa, current revelations on the matter including the discovery of human remains indicate that the CID boss’ earlier comments were ill-informed.

This comes after COP Addo-Danquah told the media that her outfit knew the location of the girls and work was in progress to rescue them.

“I think the public outcry was enough to cause her to make certain pronouncements…I would expect her to express some remorse. It will cast her in good light. I would advise her to just engage the public, at least retract some of the statements she made.”

In April, the CID Boss notably assured Ghanaians that Police knew the whereabouts of the three kidnapped girls; Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Ruth Love Quayson and Priscilla Kuranchie.

This was met by cries from the kidnapped girls’ families who warned the CID Boss to stop playing with their emotions because of the lack of clarity.

The following month, the CID Boss said her comments were misunderstood and only meant to give the families hope.

Before the debacle, families of the kidnapped girls’ had already been appealing for the CID Boss’ removal.

They had the support of other groups like Concerned Mothers Association, who wanted her sacked over her refusal to apologise for lying on the whereabouts of the kidnapped girls.

Police have so far found four human remains at various locations as part of their investigation into the disappearance of the three Takoradi girls.

They have assured to complete DNA tests of the remains within a month.
