A man was rescued from South Beach in northern California with the assistance of a National Park Service ranger.
On Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time, the Marin County Sheriff’s Department notified the park that an adult male had been discovered face down in the surf and was not reacting to any stimuli.
When he fell into cardiac arrest while surfing with friends, those friends quickly began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him.
According to the National Park Service (NPS), when rangers arrived on the scene, they discovered that the victim had a pulse and was breathing before taking responsibility for the patient’s treatment.
