According to reports, in 2015, Nawaf Salam tweeted a meme against Israel that said, “Unhappy birthday to you: 48 years of occupation.”
Not only is the contentious International Court of Justice (ICJ) coming under heavy fire for its ruling on Friday, which said that Israel had to cease its military campaign in Rafah in order to drive out Hamas, but the court’s sitting judge has a history of prejudice against Israel.
The highest legal body of the United Nations is, to put it plainly, a political instrument of antisemitism at large. President Nawaf Salam of the International Court of Justice presided over this case as the presiding judge. He is from Lebanon, a nation that rejects Israel’s legitimacy for existence. Additionally, he has tweeted comments like “unhappy birthday to you: 48 years of occupation” in his own time. He is an extreme anti-Israeli politician who has been disguising himself as a judge for the sake of the UN.” The Touro Institute for Human Rights and the Holocaust’s director, Anne Bayefsky, told Fox News Digital.
Human Rights Voices’ supervisor, Bayefsky, a U.N. legal expert, said, “And whence did his kangaroo Court receive its ‘facts’ in this case? Of course, the United Nations. An organization whose three highest organizations, the Human Rights Council, the General Assembly, and the Security Council, have never even denounced the horrors committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7.”
