In South Carolina, Murdaugh, who is 54 years old, is now serving two life sentences for the murders of his wife and son.
A recording that was made public on Monday revealed that Alex Murdaugh, five years before he recanted the charge in a federal lawsuit, placed the responsibility for the death of Gloria Satterfield on the animals that belonged to his family.
During a press conference that took place on Monday, lawyers Ronnie Richter and Eric Bland, who are representing the Satterfield estate, referred to Murdaugh’s activities as a “misinformation campaign.”
It should come as no surprise that the most current version of events as told by the convicted killer is in direct contradiction to the most recent account of the circumstances surrounding the death of the housekeeper.
Her death occurred on February 16th, exactly three weeks after she had fallen down the brick stairs of the family’s old house in South Carolina on February 2nd.
The attorneys were quite critical of Murdaugh after he made the shocking admission last week in a federal civil lawsuit that he had lied to his insurance companies when he claimed that the 67-year-old housekeeper had fallen because of the four dogs that lived in the family’s home.
