The shootings happened in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago.
Sunday night, a shooting at a Father’s Day party in Chicago, Illinois, killed two people and hurt three others, according to city officials.
Five people were shot in the Roseland neighborhood near West 99th and South Princeton before they were taken to hospitals, according to Chicago Police.
People in a gray Honda car started shooting at the victims while they were in a park. Tom Ahern, a police spokesman, said that two men, ages 37 and 33, were killed. Three guys, ages 27, 25, and 19, were taken to the hospital with different problems.
“It’s too bad this happened today because it was nice. “People are just trying to do things with their families, but this city is full of violence,” said Chicago Police Commander Tyrone Pendarvis. “It’s a shame that these five people were shot.”
Ahern said that no suspects had been apprehended at this time.
According to The Chicago Tribune, the incident occurred at 8 p.m. during a Father’s Day cookout.
The event is still being investigated.
