An avalanche that occurred early on Sunday morning in the Dreamweaver Couloir of Mount Meeker resulted in the death of one person and the injury of two others.
The National Park Service reported that witnesses who were climbing in the vicinity called for assistance after a rockfall and an avalanche was recorded at approximately 9 a.m. Mountain Standard Time.
In a separate incident, a woman who had suffered relatively minor injuries was flown to Upper Beaver Meadows via helicopter before being sent to a hospital. There were three participants involved in the incident.
