Because of people’s concerns that the bats in Nevada may be bringing rabies or another disease, the local fire station had no choice but to close.
Bats have caused an infestation at a Nevada fire station for the second time in the past seven years, and as a result, officials have been forced to temporarily close the facility.
A spokesperson for the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District claimed that dead bats were found in a bay at the small fire station that is located between Reno and Carson City. The bay is where an ambulance is parked, and the spokeswoman said that the bats had been flying about the bay.
The bats were removed from the fire station in 2015, but their return has sparked worries about the health and safety of those who work there, according to the chief of the fire department.
