A car crashed into a crowd of revelers and police officers on New Year’s Eve, leaving at least nine people hurt in New York City overnight.
The New York City Fire Department reports that the incident occurred at West 34th Street and 9th Avenue, close to Madison Square Garden.
The Daily Mail claimed that the driver had driven the car on the sidewalk, striking bystanders and law enforcement officials before stopping.
The collision was deemed a mass casualty event by the authorities.
