The incident occurred in the city’s Floridsdorf neighborhood, as police in Vienna reported on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to police, four people were shot in the street, and the assailants fled in cars. The conditions of the casualties were initially unknown.
The Austrian public broadcaster reported that police seized two vehicles and arrested four Bosnian suspects.
According to the news website Kronen, the shooting appeared to be connected to a conflict between criminal gangs.
The police did not immediately disclose information regarding a potential motive.
