The famous Scottish buildings have a fascinating history and historical attractions. Scotland has many far and near visitors who bring a beautiful memory with these historical places. Scotland has 13 UNESCO World Heritage designations.

Edinburgh Edinburgh

Edinburgh castle is famous worldwide, and it’s an icon of Scotland. Edinburgh attracts visitors and dominates the skyline. There is a complex building history of this castle. In the 12 century, St Margaret’s Chapel made the oldest part. James IV, Around 1510, erected the great hall, and the Regent Morton built the half-moon battery in the late 16 century.

The western viewpoint has an amazing view from a high rampart west of Edinburgh. The views are most visible from the peaks of the castle. 

Gladstone’s Land

Gladstone’s land is named after Thomas Glasstone, a merchant who bought an extended house in the 1610S. He also introduced the beautiful painted ceiling. Gladstone’s land is cared for by the national trust for Scotland.

The historic townhouse’s restoration brings you through three centuries of Gladstone’s history. There are also ice cream parlors and coffee shops where you can refresh yourself while visiting this historic land.

R&A World Golf Museum

In the 1800s, a cabinet of curiosities began, and for the past 30 years known as the British Golf Museum. In 2021 renamed The R&A World Golf Museum. The R&A World Golf Museum is opposite The Royal and Ancient Clubhouse. Here you can explore the memory from the beginning to the present day. Fort George

The British government commissioned this military fort to secure its army from future threats. But this never happened. Inside the fort is the Highlanders Museum- the largest museum outside Edinburgh- you can find a large variety of grand magazines and its impressive collection of weapons. Visit the old barracks to see a graphic recreation of soldiers. You can see wild dolphins jumping from a distance from the Fort George wall.

Stirling Castle

Many people know Stirling castle as the place where Mel Gibson fought in Braveheart. One of the royal figures is that many queens spent their lives here. But this magnificent castle was abandoned for many years. Directional signs guide you along your way while entering the castle. You can see the William Wallace monument from the castle wall upon the vaults. You can find lots of historical facts when visiting this historic castle.
